Antonio Canova's 18th century masterpiece, Psyche Revived by Cupid's Kiss, inspired the form and narrative, while Henry Moore's boldness of shapes suggested the style of Alexander’s Moore’s Canova. As with all of Alexander’s works, this sculpture started as a maquette, which then gave life to a body of tabletop and mid-size sculptures. Eventually, the mirror polished bronze beauty caught the attention of Canvas Art Consultants, who needed something magnificent to adorn their client’s latest real estate project. Taking a year to complete, using a lost wax technique of bronze casting, the monumental size version of Moore’s Canova stands as the focal point in the luxury residential hi-rise in Taiwan, Solitaire.
